Bethlehem Bible College Students Serving the Lord in Jordan

In response to a challenge thrown out during a chapel service by Pastor Alex Awad, Dean of Students at Bethlehem Bible College,  five students plus two staff member from the College set out for Jordan to serve in the distribution of aid to Syrian refugees fleeing the raging war in their homeland and seeking shelter in Jordan.

Pastor Awad, in his message to the students, challenged them to raise the necessary support to aid the Syrian refugees who have lost homes and family members and sought refuge in neighbouring Jordan. Meeting the refugees and interacting with them was a great experience for BBC’s students, and they encountered heart-rending stories of lost family members, some of whom were in prisons in Syria, others who had sought shelter in other countries like Turkey. Most had lost all their possessions .

The trip encompassed two cities, Amman and AlMafraq, and the students worked under the auspices of Al-Itihad (Alliance) churches in both locations. The need is greater than anyone can imagine, and believers need to unite in prayer for peace in Syria. Showing the love of God through effective service was a practical lesson for the students.
