A Call from Bethlehem Regarding the Gaza War
Greetings to all from Bethlehem.
I am writing to inform you about the current situation and
how to understand what is happening. In the midst of the events unfolding in
the Holy Land these days, our hearts are heavy with sorrow due to the ongoing
conflict and violence.
We pray for an end to all violent civilian and military
activities that harm both Palestinian and Israeli civilians. Our hope is to
preserve the sanctity of humanity, for every person is created in the image of
God
We stand in solidarity with all the innocent individuals who
are suffering, as our hearts go out to them.
You can join us in prayer for:
·
May leaders and
decision-makers be guided by wisdom, compassion, and a genuine commitment to
peace.
·
For those who are
suffering, may they cry out to the Lord in their distress and find salvation.
·
For God to raise up new
leaders on both sides who have integrity and the fear of God
·
May God empower new leaders
on both sides who possess integrity and a reverence for God.
We remind ourselves, according to scripture, that God is our
refuge. “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock,
in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalm
18:2 NIV
“Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though
war break out against me, even then I will be confident.” Psalm 27:3 NIV
In our prayers, we echo the words of John from the book of Revelation, where he envisions a future where 'God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.' (Revelation 21:4, NIV)
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10 NIV
